the rules
[/li][li] posts must be over 150 words in length. if you're feeling museless, just let the other person know you'll post in a bit, when you get your muse back. although applications may be written in first person, we ask that roleplaying is written in third. try to really get into your character's personality, and make them unique. not everyone had abusive pasts, or were totally rich, or are beautiful. there are some normal people too!
[/li][li] don't stetch the board with huge images, please. even though this site is pretty image heavy, don't overload your posts with them. signatures should be a reasonable size, and posts are restricted to 3 images each (excluding sigs and member icons) just so it doesn't look too congested. we all love pretty graphics, so if you're not so great at them, head over to caution or pm anna.
[/li][li] r-rated stuff is allowed, but mark it in your thread totle with an [R]. clients can hook up with instructors and vice-versa. relationships are encouraged! don't try to steal someone's boyfriend/girlfriend unless you told both other rpers what you were going to do.
[/li][li] this is a post-school riding school roleplay. now you're probably confused. basically, everyone he has been through highschool, now they're refining their equestrian skills. oh, and the password is hot chocolate is yummy. so it's like a horse school. kind of. get it? good. clients should be over the age of 20, and instructors over the age of 25. not everyone is young- make your characters a range of ages!
[/li][li] when joining, your account's username should be your character's name capitalized correctly with a period at the end. look at other accounts to understand this. one character per account, please. your signature & icon should match. don't further decorate you name; that just clutters it up. it's nicer to be simple :]
[/li][li] no godmodding. seriously, no one is perfect. we all screw up sometimes. no gary-stues or mary-sues either, they're just annoying. powerplaying is not allowed unless you've okayed it with the other person. things don't always turn out your way; keep your character's life realistic and interesting.
[/li][li] pleasepleasePLEASE try to use unique cannons! i am getting sick of seeing taylor swift's face plastered on every site i've ever been on. broaden your imagination, kiddies. if you need help on finding a face claim, just ask. someone will most likely suggest someone.
[/li][li] to keep the guy-girl ratio even, your second character must be a dude. guys aren't too hard to play! if you need help with finding a face claim or playing a male character just pm anna- i've played tons of male characters.
[/li][li] no superhorses. and by that i mean try to eliminate all the "lassie"s of the horse world. horses are moody, flighty creatures. having that said, not every horse is a total spaz either. look for balance, and keep it real.
[/li][li] because this place is haunted, chances are your character will see some sort of ghost. don't be alarmed if the character " ___ ___'s ghost" invades your thread. it just means that your character is being haunted.
[/li][li] as this is a rather international roleplay, try to make your character similar to the culture that they came from. for example, if your character grew up in germany. chances are he/she'd have an accent- try to incorprate that into your writing. changed my mind, the password is now beside you in time. with that being said, don't make your character too over-the-top and stereotypical. (i.e. french man with a berret and a curly mustache eating a breadstick with a side of wine) that could offend someone, and it's stupid.
[/li][li] GRAMMAR is they key to happiness, people! if a sentence looks awkward, try to fix it. not everyone's perfect, but put in an attempt to make your writing fluid and a pleasure to read.
[/li][li] one last thing; keep your post length appropriate to the other roleplayer and the situation. i don't want to read 7 paragraphs about joey cleaning out thunderbolt's stall. if the person that you're roleplaying with is only posting 4-5 posts, keep yours in that same range. you don't need 3 paragraphs just to say that sally got a glass of milk from the fridge.
and of course, have fun![/li][/ul]
